BIG DOG TROUBLE

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE BAND....

"Big Dog Trouble is a quartet of seasoned (some lightly fried) musicians playing the music they love, past and present. Comprised of Jean Marie Hays on vocals, hand percussion and guitar, Chris Alexander on guitar, harmonica, foot percussion and vocal, Ron Friedman on bass and vocal, and Jim Baldwin on guitar and vocal, BDT features eclectic arrangements of songs by the likes of The Beatles, Neil Young, Rickie Lee Jones, The Band, Eva Cassidy, Bobby Gentry, k.d. lang, Steve Winwood, Donovan, and Dylan as well as originals. All four members of the band sing lead, and their sound is characterized by tight vocal harmonies. Sing along if you know ‘em, and definitely have a howling good time!"

CURRENTLY...

....still working on recording some of our original songs: Gravity, Desert Highway, Before You Hurt, and Alcatraz.

NEWS: Ron— 'Lucky Dog'— joined us this past May and has infected us with his enthusiasm ever since. Speaking of infected, we other three are now hugely relieved to have a doctor in the band, since— well, you know, we're not exactly spring chickens any more...

The first gig with the new line-up went really well after we managed to overcome a wicked hum in the PA from the chandelier.

We're introducing some new material into the sets: versions of Down In the Boondocks, Every Breath You Take, Diamond In the Rough, and Moon River. (Yes, Zen Dog will transport you back to Breakfast at Tiffany's.)
